Multi Role Combat Vehicle - Demonstrator
Defender 90: 2.5Ltr TDi (1995)
Just how much 'punch' can you cram into a '90'. This really is one of a kind. It is a prototype built by Land Rover Special Vehicles to prove the British Multi Role Combat concept. It was built in 1995 in time for the British Arms Equipment Exhibition of that year. The base vehicle is, of course , a Defender 90, driven by a 2.5 Ltr TDi and a 5 speed box.
The vehicle boasts a number of special features, not least of which is the intimidating 360 degree turret gun.
Being a demonstrator, this vehicle has not been in the wars. But nevertheless it arrived into the collection with a couple of bodywork scars that it had picked up along the way. These we have chosen to leave and it is none the worse for that, offering us a vision of how such an accomplished 'street fighter' would appear!
