There are times when even we decide that it is sensible to hitch a lift.
Today was the day that one of our more charismatic vehicles joined the growing number of our collection located at our new display barn in Somerset. But it had to travel down from its last outing in Yorkshire, so we thought this sedate old lady would benefit from a helping hand. We are not sure what the rules are about taking tracked vehicles down the M1, but we assumed that it is not encouraged. Plus, we didn’t have a fortnight to spare to complete the journey.
So, many thanks to our mates at 365 Vehicle Logistics who lent us a hand to bring this beast of a Land Rover home safe and sound (and in super-quick time!)
Pictured is, of course, our 1958 Cuthbertson. We love it to bits but are realistic enough to believe it has done more miles on the back of a transporter than moving under its own steam. It has just 3,000 miles on the clock, yet has spent part of its life in Norway and, latterly, in Germany. It’s fun to take out in ‘the rough’, but it is certainly no racehorse. More of a Suffolk Punch!
